Welcome!

Dive into the history of the landmark of Nuremberg. Our restaurant "Burgwaechter" was perfectly placed into the walls of the "Nürnberger Kaiserburg".

The Nürnberger Burg is not only the recognition feature of our franconian hometown, but moreover it was significant for the Holy Roman Empire. To that time the Nürnberger Burg was one of the most important imperial palaces.

Emperor Ludwig I perpetuated himself with the expansion of the interior and received help from the architect Carl Alexander von Heideloff. In 1858 reign Maximilian II finished Heideloff's work with the architect August von Voit. Unfortunately the Nürnberger Burg got destroyed in 1945 and from that point on it was rebuilt with the purpose of connecting the past and the present of Nuremberg.

This unique, rustical and historical scenery invites everybody to visit the restaurant Bergwaechter, which is located at the entrance of the Nürnberger Burg. Enjoy a delicious break right in the center of the old part of our city. We suggest experiencing a meal on one of our two terraces in the sun.

We offer our traditional beer specialities just like „Kellerbier“ from our brewery in Zirndorf, „Grüner-Bier“ and  „Sebaldus-Weizenbier“ from the Nuremberger Tucher-Brewery and „Schlenkerla-Rauchbier“ from Bamberg.

Enjoy your time in our traditional and comfortable restaurant with a unique atmosphere. We are looking forward to guest from all over the world, but in particular we are happy to meet Nürnberger which are interested in our homemade quality meals.
